Pet Bunny on the subway tracks.
#1
A few days ago a pet bunny was spotted on the tracks at a Toronto subway station. She was nearly hit by a train.
Rabbit Rescue and transit staff sprung to action. It took about an hour, but the bunny was lured by a piece of banana. She is now safely in the home of someone from Rabbit Rescue. She has been named Rosedale since she was at Rosedale subway station.

She is for sure an abandoned pet. Not only is she a white rabbit, her back is dyed pink. So until recently she was the pet of a little girl.
I wonder if that child has seen her pet's picture in the news. I wonder what story the parents used to explain the rabbit's absence.
They must have dumped her in the bushes near the subway station. If she hadn't been seen on the tracks, a hawk or coyote would have gotten her. Or else cold and hunger would have gotten her. It is still winter here and there is little to eat and she would not know where to find shelter.

There is enough information out there now about pet abandonment and why it is wrong. Who ever did this knows they are not actually releasing their pet to live free in the wild. Rosedale subway station is not the wild and a pink dyed white bunny is not a wild animal.
