Ontario to increase penned hunting areas.
#1
I did not know that this is happening in Ontario. The province allows licenses for for dogs to hunt coyotes, rabbits and foxes in enclosed areas. The dogs are hunting dogs that are being trained to hunt these animals. The animals are captive bred for the purpose of being hunted. Not only is the practice allowed, the current provincial government wants to expand the number of licenses and allow more locations.

Let me say first that I did not vote for the current Ontario Provincial Government. The practice of dog training and trialing is cruel. The province has worked to reduce it.
Now it is being encouraged and expanded. It is just one more nasty thing that this government doing.
Sadly the next election isn't until 2026.

The people of Ontario do not want this. They are fighting it, but they are fighting a cruel and inhumane provincial government.

We were trying to phase this out and close down the whole thing. Now it is being increased.
The whole idea of hunting pens is cruel, vile, evil and disgusting. Maybe we should publish the names of those who voted in favor of this.

From the original article you cite, Catherine: "The Liberal government reintroduced the spring bear hunt in Ontario as a pilot program in 2014, which Ford's government made permanent in 2021."

Does this mean that both parties favour hunting in one form or another? Is there a party which opposes all hunting?

I think both parties are afraid to offend hunters.
Probably the Green Party opposes hunting. Or not.

Good luck making sense out of Canadian politics.
I can't even find out the New Democratic Party stand on hunting.
They probably haven't taken a position on the issue.
No one wants to offend hunters and pro-gun people.
