Near cat-astrophe leads to forever home

Someone in Florida, out on a walk, heard kitten cries. Authorities were called and a deputy responded.
The sound was coming from an uncapped pipe. Five feet down was a little kitten calling for help. Deputy Jones devised a ladder and the kitten was able to climb out. What happened to the kitten? Deputy Jones adopted him of course.

It is nice when a story has a happy ending and the animal is rescued. It is even happier when the animal is adopted by the rescuer.
How could you turn down a kitten that came to you through a rescue like that. Mario and Brandon belong together.
