How did the turtle cross the road?
#1
The turtle crossed the road with the aid of a dry cleaner. The building that houses a dry cleaning business in Connecticut, is right on the path that a group of Eastern Painted Turtles take when they go to their nesting grounds. When the eggs hatch it is the path that the baby turtles take to get to the water.
Every year the people in the dry cleaning business help the turtles on their journey to the nesting grounds and back. When the hatchlings appear, they help them to their pond.
The business has been doing this for more than ten years.

That is dedication! They have been doing this a long time and they are going to keep on doing it.
When they help those females across the road, they are making a commitment to help her babies when they hatch.
When you start looking around, there are a lot of turtle keepers out there. We build roads with out regards to turtle migration paths.
Now they need us to help them safely lay their eggs and to help the babies when they hatch.
There are people out their, like the dry cleaners who faithfully help the turtles year after year.
You really have to admire the dedication of these people.
