Man fired for saving moose calf from a bear.

A man in northern BC came across a moose calf on the highway. When he stopped the calf tried to get in his truck.
Then he noticed a bear waiting the get the calf. There was no mother moose in sight. He waited and eventually he brought the calf into his truck.
He brought her with him and she is in a wildlife rehab facility.
His company fired him for his actions.

Normally you should not touch a calf like that. However, the calf approached him and there was a bear waiting for the calf. That does make it a little different.
The calf was certainly going to die and she did come to him for help. It would be very hard to drive off and leave a calf like that. In a wildlife rehab center she has a chance at a normal life. It is too bad he lost his job. Hopefully they can sort that out.
