Monitoring the bats as natural pest control

The City of Edmonton has started monitoring its bat population. They are recognizing bats as an important form of pest control.
Bats eat mosquitos.  They have a positive impact on the environment.
Pesticides kill mosquitos, but they have a negative impact on the environment.
Doing things to help the bats will provide mosquito control with no negative side effects.

Good for Edmonton that they are working with nature to solve a problem. If we took that approach more often the environment would not be in such a crisis state.
