Vancouver library holds borrow a dog event in Sept.
#1
They are calling it a Canine Library event. It is actually sponsored by the Vancouver Public Library, Vancouver Park Board, Paws 4 Stories and the St John's Ambulance. You don't actually get to check out a dog and take it home, but you do get to spend time with a therapy dog, in the park, reading to it.
This is an extension of the Paws 4 Stories program that has children improve their reading skills  by reading to shelter dogs.

This sounds like a beautiful event. Picture sitting in a park, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine with a dog beside you, while you read to it.
I wish we had something like this in Toronto.
I bet if we had dogs like this on our transit system things would run much smoother.

We should have more dog events for people who don't have dogs.
A dog picnic would be nice.
