Kelping, a global phenomena for Humpback whales
#1
Humpback whales have been observed playing in the kelp beds. They roll in it and rub against it. It is something they do in groups or on their own.
Scientists are not sure why they are doing it. It is thought that it is a skin care routine. It could also be a social event for them. The whales seem to be having fun.

It is playful and it feels good. That is why they do it. I am sure they have learned to use seaweed for skin care. Making it a fun event is just one more sign that whales are more intelligent that we have given them credit for.

It is a spa day and I am jealous. When was the last time I had a spa day with friends. Actually I have never had a spa day  with friends. I think the whales are smarter than us.
