The waters off of Dominica will be designated as a Sperm Whale sanctuary. The area is the home of 200 Sperm Whales. It is a key nursing and feeding ground for the whales. Commercial fishing will not be permitted in the sanctuary.

This is very good. They are protecting the area where the whales nurse their young. This gives them a chance to survive. Banning commercial fishing protects the whales in so many ways. A sanctuary like this will protect the whales and it will help all the other marine species that live in the area.
We need more countries to follow this example. The health of the oceans is critical to the health of the planet.
