Hypothermic turtle survives.
#1
A 5 year old green turtle was found unconscious  on a beach 100 kilometers north west of Halifax. She was named Scottie because she was found near Scots Bay. She was thought to be dead until she ,moved her head. She was rushed to a vet. In spite of the cold shock, they were able to revive her.
She was shipped to the Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo. She is being cared for until she is well enough to be released. Hopefully she will live a long and healthy life and go on to produce many more turtles.

Sadly most turtles who end up that far north don't recover from cold shock. She must have been found soon enough to help her.
Every year turtles die from cold shock. Fortunately there are people out there who are able to help them and some do recover.
We wish Scottie a long and happy life.
