Bee Keeping, a 12 months of the year hobby
#1
I found an article by a Bee Keeper that describes just how much Bee Keepers do with their bees. They have things to do for their bees all year round. Bee keepers are also a community of like minded individuals. They support each other and have classes to help new keepers.

I didn't realize how much work Bee Keepers do. The do have to watch the hives in the winter. Our native bees know what to do in the winter.
Bee hives are full of European Honey Bees. They certainly need help to survive. I have heard that if winter is very bad, the keepers actually need to feed honey to the bees. I am impressed by their dedication to their bees. The next time I see a honey bee in my garden I will know that there is a person out their who cares if that bee makes it home.  I appreciate that their bees come to my garden. So, thank you Bee Keepers.
