The worst zoo in the world?

Appararently 25 animals a month die at Surabaya Zoo in Indonesia. Many animals are malnourished. You can read all about it here:

They clearly can't afford to feed the animals. The tiger is visibly malnourished. The dead giraffe probably ate the plastic bag because he was hungry. The dead Komodo dragon looked pretty thin.

I don't think they know how to care for the animals, but with enough food they could still be better than they are.

It is a hopeless situation. They are running a zoo with no really means of income. The admission fees are never enough to feed the animals, but a dollar a person is beyond inadequate.
Surely with that many deaths, someone should be looking into the situation.
I signed the petition to close the zoo. The animals could be disbursed to other facilities that have room and skill to care for them.
