A Pod of Orcas is trapped in the ice off of Japan
#1
A Pod of more than ten Orcas is trapped in the ice just off the coast of Japan's main northern island. Drone footage shows they are struggling to breath through the small hole that they have. Unfortunately there is no plan to rescue them. They will have to wait until the ice breaks up naturally.

This must be frightening for the whales. There is very little room for them to breath.
They can't swim to safety. It is too far. It is sad that the locals have no way of helping them.
I wonder how long until the ice beaks up. If it goes on too long they won't survive.

The latest news is that the ice has been shifting and they seem to be free.

This is such good news. I was so worried. I didn't think they could survive long the way they were.
