7000 cows die in Texas wildfires
#1
They estimate that over 7000 cows have died in the Texas wildfires. Many more are so badly injured they will need to be put down.

Most of the focus is on what the farmers have lost. There is not much thought given to what the cows have suffered.
Sadly we are so used to hearing about wildfires we don't really  react anymore. Most of what I heard in the news did not even mention animals.
Cattle would have been so vulnerable. Because of fences they would not have been able to escape.

I don't know what could have been done. Certainly rethinking how we farm so animals are not vulnerable would be a good start.
