The fight to save the South African Penguin
#1
South African Penguins are in a precarious situation. There numbers are declining at a steady rate. There are a number of reasons for this, humans being high on the list. If nothing is done, they will go extinct. So BirdLife South Africa and the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Costal Birds are taking the South African government to court. The government has failed to protect the endangered species and they need to be held accountable.

It is a strong move, but it still may not be enough. The penguins are very vulnerable.
Meaningful actions are needed to reverse their decline. The world would be a poorer place without the comical little birds.
We can only hope that the case is settled and enough is done in time. It is an emergency. We just have to hope the right people see it as an emergency.
