Colorado makes plans to reintroduce wolverines
#1
It is still in the planning stages, but Colorado wants to reintroduce wolverines. They have been gone a long time. Reintroducing them would help increase wolverine numbers in general. Colorado has a lot of wild mountain areas where they could thrive. It will benefit the state to restore native wildlife.
Everyone would gain from this.

Good for Colorado that they are considering this.
Bringing back native species makes ecosystems stronger and more stable.

Wolverines are not very common even before we hunted them.
I have never seen one, even when I have been in the Rockies.

Even if they are reintroduced successfully, it is unlikely that they will be seen too often.
It is good enough that they are there doing what they should be doing. That is the purpose of rewilding.
I can't wait to be posting about the first new wolverines in Colorado.
