The Manitoba Winter Fair is educational and interesting. It runs from March 25-30, 2024. In Manitoba that is still winter.
Unfortunately they are holding animal wrangling events. The Winnipeg Humane Society and Animal Justice are both calling on the fair to cancel the wrangling events. The events cause the animals stress and risk injuries.
The fair works under Animal Care Act so the provinces chief veterinary officer will be there.

Why are we still these strange animal contests. Who needs to wrangle a sheep or even watch someone else do it.
This is not a long standing tradition. I grew up in Manitoba and I never heard of anything like this.
