Many people try to help stranded Orca
#1
A mother Orca, with her calf nearby got stranded on Vancouver Island when the tide went out. Many people tried to help. They kept the whale wet and tried to turn her onto her belly. Sadly she died before the tide returned. The concern now is for her calf.

It is heart breaking, but you have to love the fact that so many people tried to help. Once she was stranded there was little anyone could do.
I just hope the calf can survive. There are so few Orcas. Losing a breeding age female is a terrible thing.

They are still trying to help the Orca calf. They want to reunite it with its pod where it will be looked after.
Sadly it looks like the mother was just trying to teach the calf to hunt when she became stranded.

The mother died trying to teach her calf. I hope they can at least save the calf. It would be too much to lose both of them.
