Marineland Ontario is closing, according to rumors.

Marineland has been under fire for years. It was just recently convicted of animal abuse.
There are now rumors that Marineland is closing. They are already laying off staff.

There is a possible sale of the park to another business.

It would be nice to celebrate, but it is too soon to be sure.

It has been a long time coming, but this time I think Marinelands days are numbered. Any animals they have left can be transferred to other places where they will be properly cared for. The park can become a different type of tourist attraction. Marineland could have done that, but they wouldn't give up the animal exhibits. I feel bad that people are losing their jobs, but they did keep working for Marineland. 

So a cautious cheer for the victory of animal welfare over animal cruelty, because this time I think they really are closing.
