London Zoo opens new reptile and amphibian display
#1
The Secret Life of Reptiles and Amphibians opens on March 29, 2024. It will house over 30 species of unusual and endangered reptiles and amphibians.
Some of them were rescued from smugglers. Some of them will be part of captive breeding programs.
The Chicken Frogs were airlifted to safety to protect them from a killer fungus. They are being housed carefully to protect them in a bio-secure area.

This is exciting. There is always the hope that the Chicken Frogs will breed. If they can cure the fungus, maybe some frogs could be returned to the wild.
This gives the public a chance to see and understand animals that are rare and not well understood.
It is also a place that can accommodate smuggled reptiles and amphibians. They can't be safely returned to the wild. Often we don't know where they came from. A place like this gives them a chance to live their lives in peace.

It is definitely  place I would want to visit.
