Hundreds, maybe thousands of Antarctic penguins dead
#1
Hundreds, possibly thousands of Adelie Penguins have been found dead. It is thought that the cause could be H5N1 Bird Flu Virus. The field tests were inconclusive so samples have been sent off. Bird Flu has reached the Antarctic already. It has the potential to impact Penguins, especially the Emperor Penguins.

This is more bad news for penguins. They are already struggling because of melting sea ice.
All we can do now is wait and see if it is the bird flu and then watch to see how big an impact it has on penguins.
It would be sad if we lost any of the penguin species. They are all so special.
