I just read that the infamous chinchilla fur farm in the USA, where live amputations were carried out, as well toe to ear electrocutions, has been closed down:

That is very good news indeed. It was very upsetting to learn how these Chinchillas were treated, and tortured. A very positive end to a terribly sad and cruel story for those poor creatures. I hope the ones rescued will all be found loving homes.

Actually, it is brilliant that they bought the farm. That means they can openly care for the chinchillas and they can be adopted out as pets.
Maybe that is the solution. Breaking in and releasing the animals always ends badly.
