Don't be guilty of accidental fawn-napping
#1
Every year fawns are born and their mothers leave them in a safe place for hours. They come back and feed them and check on them. This is perfectly normal.
Every year some well intentioned person "rescues" the fawn and takes it home or takes it to a shelter.
Things don't always end well for "rescued" fawns.

Deer and many other animal mothers leave their babies for hours at a time. When they come back, the baby should still be there so it can receive the care that only its mother can give. Can you imagine the distress of the mother if the baby is gone. The baby has so little chance of survival if it is taken from its mother.
If the baby does survive, it won't have learned how to look after itself and survive in the wild. It won't be able to live as a pet. So what will happen to it?
It is better if we don't interfere with the way that wild animals raise their babies. They know what they are doing and they can do a better job than we can.
