Gemmy the Alpaca is blind. The rest of the herd is uncomfortable with her and don't want her around. She has been at the shelter since she was 3 days old and she is mostly alone.
Eddie was surrendered to the shelter last fall. He was so neglected he could barely walk. He had pretty much given up.
Then he noticed Gemmy and her gentle ways and he approached her. Eddie now walks again and Gemmy is able to follow him.

They may both be less than perfect, but together they are stronger. Alpacas are a species that doesn't want to be alone. Now that they have each other, they are not alone. Life is better for them both and they are happier.
