It seems there is a resident cat at 10 Downing Street. Larry is known as the Chief Mouser and he has outlasted 6 prime ministers.
He was brought is as a pet for Prime Minister Cameron's children, but he stayed on when Prime Minister Cameron left office.
He has continued to be there as Prime Ministers come and go. He is about to work with a new Prime Minister.

Larry is now considered a government employee. He clearly has some kind of seniority. It is funny how cats will establish themselves in a location rather than with an owner. Of course cats don't consider themselves to be property. Any Prime Minister who wants to last better make friends with this cat.
