In particular, Vicunas living in areas of newly retreating glaciers are helping to restore life to baren land.
There is nothing growing when a glacier melts. The Vicunas gather and poop in an area. The poop provides nutrients and seeds. Growth of vegetation is accelerated by many years.

This is good news for the land and the animals themselves. The animals need the vegetation to survive. Climate change is killing vegetation in some areas, but other areas are starting to grow. Sadly climate change is not mitigated so easily by a few Vicunas. It might help locally, but climate change is still a big global problem.
