The Eastern Box Turtle, Rockalina, was taken from the wild about 50 years ago. She was about 15-20 years old. Since them she has lived in side and eaten catfood and a bit of lettuce or maybe a piece of fruit. Everything about her life was not enough. She was in terrible condition.
With proper care she is healing. Her whole life has expanded. She can't be turned loose or even live with other turtles, but she can have a much better quality of life.

It is sad that people do not respect turtles enough to leave them alone. Turtles found in the wild are not lost. There are where they are supposed to be.
People also fail to provide proper care for any turtle they rescue. Rockalina has suffered neglect all these years. She even lost her tail. It is just good to know that she will have a good life from now on.
