This is a heart breaking story and sadly not a new one. Twelve year old, Lexie, got her head stuck in a chip bag and suffocated.
When her owner came home, Lexie was not at the door to greet her. She was found with her head stuck in a chip bag, already dead.

The way these bags are made, they seem to seal around a pets face and cut off all air intake. After that it takes very little time for the pets to die.
There is a group called Prevent Pet Suffocation that is trying to make people aware of the dangers.

Hopefully the word can get out about the dangers of snack bags.
If people knew the dangers they could take precautions. I cut a bag fully open before I throw it out.
I don't have a dog, but I would hate to hear that someone else's pet died because I was careless.
To know about the danger, at least gives people a chance to prevent tragedy.
