Ten years ago a racoon died on a Toronto sidewalk. His body was there for hours and a spontaneous memorial was built around him.
Somehow he ended up with the name Conrad. Now a plaque has been installed where he died, as a lasting memorial.

We struggle with our relationship with Raccoons or Trash Pandas as we call them. I guess Conrad symbolized our mixed feelings. Raccoons create a lot of mess, but we secretly love them. Putting up a memorial plaque will help us remember that.
