Blind baby Wombat finds home at wildlife shelter
#1
Gundy, the baby Wombat was just 5 months old when his mother was killed by a car. He was brought in to a wildlife center where he was cared for.
It was discovered that he is blind. Sadly he cannot be released to the wild. Without sight he would have little chance of survival.
A wildlife sanctuary in NSW has become his home. He likes people so he is fitting in okay.

Release to the wild would have been ideal, but not in this case. Instead, Gundy can have a good life and teach people about Wombats.
He will adapt to his new home and blindness won't stop him. It is sad that he lost his mother, but some good can come from the situation.
Maybe his story will  make drivers more careful of Wombats on the road.
