Bats rescued from ice storm...ready to fly
#1
Last winter I posted about the Toronto Wildlife Centre rescuing a large number of bats that were awakened and even displaced by our bad ice storms.

It seems that they have gradually recovered and been returned to the wild.

According to the newsletter, the last bat was released on sept 24, 2014. I would call that a successful rescue.

Oh good. I am glad to hear they are all okay now. I hope there isn't a severe winter again in Toronto.

You and me both. We haven't cleaned up all the dead and damaged trees from last winter. The bats and the birds need a milder winter so they can recover. It has taken months to get some of the bats healthy again. We need a gentle winter that doesn't last so long.Smiley61
