It is snake season in Manitoba
#1
Every spring the hibernating Garter Snakes emerge from their caves in Narcisse, Manitoba. Thousands of Garter Snakes emerge.
They gather together after emerging for their annual mating season. Once they have bred, they disperse and live out their summer. Then when the cooler weather happens, they will return to the caves for another winter.

It has been a cool spring so they are starting late this year. They will still be back in the fall when it gets cooler.
Can you imagine what it is like to see thousands of snakes emerging from the ground.
This is my dream vacation. Someday I will be their to see it happen.
Until then, the snakes will have to carry on without me.

Just when you thought the snakes had safely made it through another winter, a new danger appears. ATV riders re driving in the area where the snakes emerge.

How about just banning ATVs from the area. I am sure there are other places they can drive, but the snakes only have one set of hibernation caves.
